PCB manufacturers are looking to Direct Product Marking (DPM) of their printed circuit boards using inkjet technology. The BMS-Series™ Board Marking System replaces the need for label applicators, custom screen printing and rubber stamping of product information on PC boards while eliminating the contrast issues that can be associated with laser marking systems.
The BMS-Series™ is an integrated PC board marking system capable of printing alpha-numeric text, bar codes, (Code 39, 93, 128, UPCA), 2D codes (Data matrix, Snowflake, etc.), logos, product serialization and date codes. It accommodates single and multiple boards ranging in size from 3” x 3” to 24 x 18”.
From order entry to shop floor production, the BMS-Series™ can apply the required product identification information in the space required on each board. The system is controlled by JETEC’s easy to use IMS™ software package. The IMS™ software is Windows based and operates within Windows NT, Windows 2000, and Windows XP environments. Network communication can be reached via OLE, ODBC, DDE, or RS232. In addition, JETEC specializes in custom development of front-end software specific for your application.

Standard features of the Board Marking System include: SMEMA compatible edge belt conveyor, high resolution industrial inkjet printer, 4 axis precision motion system allowing for product marking in both the X and Y plane and an integrated barcode inspector. The BMS-Series™ can achieve board-to-board cycle times of under 6 seconds. Each system is delivered turnkey, ready for installation and immediate use.

Usage:
Industrial inkjet technology allows a non-contact product marking solution without the worry of potential damage to circuit traces and components. The IMS marking software allows all board marking locations to be easily identified, marked and inspected prior to board release.
Utilizing an Access database and interface hardware, the system has the capability to interface to multiple scanners and machines on the production line, thus providing a complete solution for product tracking.
